Would you like to become a member of Disabled Women Ireland?
Membership of DWI currently consists of disabled self-identified women and non-binary people, but is open to all disabled people from marginalized genders. Given that gender and disability equality requires the input of people with lived experience, we currently advocate in relation to the issues experienced by our members. As our membership diversifies, the issues we advocate in relation to will diversify. For this reason, in addition to welcoming self-identified women and non-binary people to join our organisation, we also encourage individuals from other marginalized genders to join.
Persons with disabilities include those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.
